Concord- Congressman-elect Richard Hudson, who will be sworn in this week as the new House member for North Carolina’s 8th District, today announced his district staff and first district office location.
“I’m very excited about the team we’ve put together here in North Carolina,” Hudson said. “Providing first-rate constituent service is my top priority and we’ve assembled a team with the necessary experience, work ethic, and commitment to go ‘above and beyond’ to fulfill the needs of our constituents.”
The current members of Hudson’s district staff are:
Chris Carter – District Director & Deputy Chief of Staff – Carter previously served as Campaign Manager for Congressman-elect Hudson. Prior to the campaign, Carter worked for Congressman Mick Mulvaney (SC-05) in his Washington, D.C. office. Carter received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and resides in Concord.
Georgia Lozier – Director of Constituent Services – An experienced caseworker, Lozier most recently served as Deputy District Director for Congressman Larry Kissell. Prior to joining Mr. Kissell’s office, Lozier worked in manufacturing, both in sales and management. Lozier is the mother of two; her children attend Cabarrus County Schools.
Elizabeth Edwards – Constituent Relations Manager – Prior to joining the Office of Congressman-elect Hudson, Edwards served on the Congressional campaign staff of Congressman-elect Robert Pittenger and State Representative Fred Steen. Edwards has extensive public service experience, having served three years in the Office of U.S. Senator Elizabeth Dole as a Constituent Service Representative. Edwards received her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
Fiorda (Fiona) Lazimi – Caseworker – Lazimi brings a strong background as an advocate and problem-solver from the Crumley Roberts Law Firm, where she assisted in developing the Social Security Department. She held positions such as clerk, case manager and marketing associate within the firm. Lazimi received her Bachelor’s degree in History and Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Chris Maples – Constituent Relations Manager (Rockingham) – Maples, a former social studies teacher, served as Congressman-elect Hudson’s campaign manager for Richmond County. Maples received his Bachelor’s degree in History and Master’s degree in Teaching from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. Maples is currently pursuing his Doctorate in Executive Leadership from Wingate University.
In addition to staff hires, Hudson also announced his Concord District Office will be located at 325 McGill Avenue, Suite 500, Concord, NC 28027. This is the same office vacated by Congressman Larry Kissell. The office phone number will also remain (704) 786-1612. Other District Office locations are under consideration and details are forthcoming. Hudson’s Concord office will open on January 3rd.
